No amount of money is worth dropping
your kids off at daycare.
Thank you for your website. It's nice to know other people feel the same
way!!!

I have been in the child care field for
more than 15 years now.
...I cannot agree more that daycare, childcare...- whatever you want to call
it - is NOT the way our society should be raising our children!
...I have witnessed nearly all of the issues pointed out by other "child
care practitioners" on (your) website at one time or another in the centers
where I have worked - incorrect ratios, "lost" or "left behind" children,
non-stimulating environments, "corralled" children, staff making fun of
children's appearances, foul language...concealing from parents bad judgment
calls by staff...
...It is nearly a daily occurrence that I hear the head teacher tell crying
children, "You're fine. You need to stop crying. there is no reason to be
upset. You're fine." (and the tone is not reassuring, but is harsh and of a
"you are frustrating me" nature).

I too am a former child care provider
and have worked with all ages. None of (my children) have gone to day care
or ever will.

I have worked in childcare for 7 years.
About a year ago, the state licensor came to investigate numerous complaints
against the daycare center. I was blamed for (making the complaints)... I
was given the silent treatment and just felt harassed altogether. They made
it difficult for me to carry on working there...

Your site is amazing!!! I have worked in
childcare for 5 years and agree with everything your site has to say.
Everyone I have ever worked with agrees that we
will NEVER put our own kids in daycare.
Thanks and keep up the good work.

(Although we advertise) "Qualified
teaching staff", our deputy manager is not qualified, and out of 8 staff
(only) 4 are just level three qualified. All qualified staff (should have)
cache level 3 diploma in child care and education.
I could write a book about this day nursery!!

Hi, I found your site and agree with
everything...
I'd love to add some comments as an ex-teacher in an institutional daycare.

I've been working in daycare for about
15 years...For the past two years...in a church.
What has been my final straw is that...we now have tiny infants as well as
all the other age levels screaming and crying all day. These children have
no one to advocate for them. We wouldn't put our dogs or cats in places like
this - why are people doing this to their children?
I'm very glad to have discovered your website.

I love your site, and am in complete
agreement with all you've said there. I currently work in a daycare that
used to be just a nursery school. It's located in a Methodist church.
"Supposedly" it is non-profit, but everyone knows the majority of the money
pays the church mortgage on the (newly built) wing. The nursery school is
rapidly getting pushed to the side, because the "real" money is in the
warehousing of as many full time kids as they can shoehorn into the place.
Recently, we began taking in babies as young as 6 weeks old. That put me
over the edge, and after 15 years in this business, I have had enough!
...we're creating a whole generation of kids who are aggressive, selfish,
and don't trust anyone!
Thanks for your site!

I just wanted to say I love your
website! I am currently a daycare employee...the things you see in daycare
are unbelievable.
...if the parents ever knew the half of what goes on! Daycares truly don't
care not only for the children but for their employees as well.

Daycares aren't the cleanest place in
the world. Kids eat stuff off the floor, they sneeze and spread germs, they
drool everywhere. So you should expect some sickness to go around.

The main problem with daycares is that
they are first and foremost a BUSINESS meant to make money. And so all
things become cost-effective in order to deliver an affordable product to
the market. Unfortunately this is at the ultimate expense of the children.
What well-educated person is willing to work for the meager pay that daycare
provides?
