I love your site on day care centers! I
worked in day cares for a long time at different ones. And each one is the
same no matter what crap they sell the parents. They are a miserable (germ
infested) place for kids and infants.
Many day care centers...act different when a parent visits or tours the
centers...But when the door is closed and no one is around it's a different
story...I can tell a child that has been dumped in a day care and I am 100%
accurate. Many have behavioral issues...

I have friends that work in daycare
centers and tell me stories about getting in trouble for giving thirsty
children water because it causes too many wet diapers, etc.

...I see more negative
socialization than anything (in daycare).
It breaks my heart and actually scares me that...our nation's
children are being raised in an institutional setting without the one-on-one
nurturing that they need.

I wanted to add my own experience to the
huge number of daycare (former and current) workers who've written in.
During college, I worked at a local state-licensed daycare.
...I was the sickest I've ever been in my life; chronic sinus infections and
intestinal problems.
...What I saw there made me vow to never put my children in daycare.

I got hired at a "4 star" "learning
center" (Baby jail). There is rarely genuine kindness, empathy, or care
from caregiver to child, and it sickens me. My job makes me cry. It takes a
lot out of me to come to work every day.
I quickly recognized daycare for the evil that it truly is. I was hoping it
wouldn't be as bad as this site said, but it is.

"Don't Die Trying", from What Do I Know,
I'm Just The Babysitter blog from Canada, posted 19-Jun-09 |
"Do You Treat Them All The Same?" It
astonishes me how many providers can not admit the truth of this question.
I'm quite certain, as well, that many of them have grown so accustomed to
saying what is societally correct that they can no longer identify the lies
they tell themselves.
For example, a number of providers (claimed) to have as much love and
admiration for the children they care for as their own. Lies, lies, lies.
Do you REALLY love the children in your care on the level you love your own?
If you answered anything but your own child then I feel deeply sad for your
child...

Since when can babies socialize with
other babies at the age of three???
In history has there ever been babies hanging out at the age of 3,4,5,6,7
socializing....they don't know how to socialize!
That's why at daycare, (I've worked at one) they are biting, hitting, crying
for attention.

I am...a daycare provider...And I have
one thing to say...I couldn't agree with you more. I do a job.
...I openly admit I do NOT love the children in care. In fact, many of them
I like but some of them I really do not like at all.

I know from experience that ... many
daycares just do not care. Like the one I am at now (name of large U.S.
daycare corporation). Never bring your child to a (name of daycare) all of
them are like (a fast food chain).
I would compare it to a crowded jail.
I went to school for this and now I do not want to do it anymore. I cannot
deal with the guilt of not giving these kids all the attention and love that
they deserve. I myself would never put my own child in a daycare.
I love your site. It tells the truth - nice work.

I worked at a daycare and it was
terrible. The manager knew when parents would be there and would talk all
sweet to them but was different behind the parents' backs. She just did
intake and out as the parents arrived for drop off and pick up. No one loved
the kids or really cared. It was just a paycheck.
I have told my daughters who now have children of their own that if they
ever have to work outside the home, to please never leave their children at
a daycare center...in the hands of strangers.
