Website is great. It's unfortunate so
many parents have to leave their children there, I absolutely refuse to have
my child in a daycare...

I am a daycare provider only because I
want to be able to stay at home with my 3 year old son...
I have read the comments on daycare and I agree 100% that I would never send
my own child to daycare.
(But) being a provider is not always an easy job either.

I LOVE YOU!!!
I am...anti-daycare, touting the ills of both daycare and its maladies
against the children it warehouses as well as against the women [the
workers], it endangers [and refuses to pay]. I have worked in and out of
daycare institutions for years - thankfully, I was able to raise (my
children) outside this pathetic institution.
(Although I was) a college grad, a mother, (with) years of experience, I was
still (paid poorly) for all the time and effort [and as much love as I could
lavish on a room of hyperactive, affection-starved children who were
well-out-of-ratio]. Every night I left in tears. There is NOTHING positive
about daycare.

I was both saddened and relieved
recently to find this site (Daycares Don't Care). I was saddened because,
having worked in five different childcare jobs, I have personally seen
occurrences of almost all of the situations reported on the website; it was
saddening to find that the problems I myself saw seem to be quite common and
widespread.
I was relieved to find that the information in those pages is available for
parents to read and know.
I am thankful that I am no longer working in that area. My conscience was
too heavy about it...

"Sickened Day Care Employee"

I just recently resigned my position as
head "teacher" of an infant room in a day care, after 3 years. When I
applied for the job the director told me how the children's welfare was the
most important thing to her. Why then when I (tearfully) told her that I had
seen a "teacher" mistreat a child was nothing done? Why after a second
complaint (that I know of), still nothing?
I stayed working there because I felt an obligation to the children. I felt
like at least the management and employees knew that I had my eye out and
always had the best interest of the children at heart. I've come to realize
that the only thing I accomplished was to keep mistreatment behind closed
doors. Away from my prying eyes.
People who work in day care generally really really need their job. So they
don't speak up. They make believe that it's all o.k., (that) it's not that
bad.

I'm an assistant at a daycare where I
live, it's the daycare. I spent most of the day near tears
today because of my job
...the longer I work there the more I have become opposed to it. I will
never subject my children to pediatric prison.
It's a pity that working with children in a daycare environment has made me
so cynical. I feel as though it's sucked my youth away. I'm 25, imagine how
it makes an infant or toddler feel.

I currently work at a daycare, and I
hate it. ...I'm so glad I found this site!
...Daycares are horrible and no kid should be in one.
I think everyone needs to know the truth about daycare! Especially parents
who leave their kids there...

I just wanted to say THANK YOU for this
site. I have been working in the daycare field for over 7 years now and have
personally witnessed almost every situation that you have listed on this
website.
...Don't even get me started on what I think about franchised childcare!!
The only thing that franchises are really good at is all of their marketing!
...you better believe that I will be staying home to raise my own children!
